The Nations in Missouri

A Prayer Guide for the Ethnic Groups in Missouri

First-generation immigrants and their children make up eight percent of Missouri’s population. This means that roughly one out of every twelve people living in Missouri is an immigrant. Seven percent of Missourians speak a language other than English in their home. In addition, there are almost ninety-five thousand immigrants living just outside the state in the Kansas City and St. Louis metropolitan areas.

Missouri Baptists do not have to leave the state to take the gospel to the nations.

This guide directs churches to recognize the nations God is sending to Missouri, and to pray : “To whom shall we go?” Involvement in international missions is no longer a question of staying home or going overseas. It is now a task for those who go and those who remain. The Holy Spirit is guiding Missouri Baptists to make disciples of all nations.
