About the Fellowship
The Missouri Baptist Bikers Fellowship (MBBF) is not another Motorcycle Club. Our goal is to “Reach Across Clubs to Occasionally Unite Missouri Baptist Bikers for Fellowship and Ministry.”
Sometime back, David Mifflin and Rick Hall were at a state Director of Missions meeting. They began to talk about motorcycle riding…a typical activity for a couple of riders. One was a member of Christian Motorcycle Association—the other, a member of F.A.I.T.H. Riders. They even talked about how good it is to get together with a group of folks who ride. Well, duh!
At some point in that conversation, they began to wonder how a state-wide motorcycle ministry might look for Christian (especially Baptist) motorcyclists. Yep…they said…it would be a good idea!
So…they began to talk with some of the Missouri Baptist Convention Staff. Those folks also thought it might be a good idea. It was decided that we didn’t want to be a “new” club…lots of those already. Besides, we wanted to be inclusive rather than exclusive in who might be involved.
Some of the riders we know are CMAers…others F.A.I.T.H. Riders…others are part of Christian Clubs of one name or another…and still others (perhaps most) are not part of any organization. Many are members of a church that may not have enough riders to even form a “group”.
The idea of Missouri Baptist Bikers Fellowship was “hatched”. We wanted to provide an opportunity for any and all of us Missouri Baptist Bikers to come together for fellowship, ministry, and outreach. We wanted to provide a chance for ANY club member to be a part…no colors here! We simply want to have a rally or two a year…maybe provide some organized “rides”…perhaps even give a chance for riders from around the state to get to know one another and work together for the Kingdom!! We would like to see our bikes become not only a recreational vehicle…but a ministry tool!
So…what is MBBF? MBBF is a loosely organized concept working with the MBC Men’s Ministry that simply exists to bring Baptist bikers from around the state together for ministry, fellowship, and outreach. We hope it might be something with which you might like to be involved. Oh, and by the way, you don’t even have to ride…just have a heart for bikers and ministry!
