Revitalization Network Values & Process
The Network is comprised of DOMs, Pastors and Convention Staff who work together to serve churches in need. To that end we are guided by the following values:
The leadership of the church have been entrusted with and are responsible
for making decisions related to the church’s future and health. Each church retains its authority and decision making process.
Cooperation among strategic partners is important. The MBRN seeks to partner with church leaders and associational partners when and where possible.
Network leaders cooperate with all partners and the local church to provide the best consultation and recommendations regarding their future. We don’t do things to churches, or for churches, we partner with churches for their future good.
Honesty and Courage:
We speak honestly and forthrightly about the true condition of the churches we consult, we serve best when we are honest and straightforward.
Many dying and declining churches avoid conflict, network leaders will address conflict directly, seeking resolutions that lead the church forward to health and gospel vitality.
Excellence and Resolve:
We are committed to engage and lead with excellence and to move forward with resolve, in the face of opposition and conflict.
Love for the Gospel:
Our mission is to see people come to salvation and make a commitment to follow Jesus as their Lord, being built up in him for God’s glory and for the good of every community. We believe that a healthy and vital local church is God’s plant to accomplish this purpose.
The Process: How Churches are Consulted
An in person meeting with church leaders to discuss the issues and concerns of the congregation. Discovery: evaluation of trend lines, Annual Church Profile data, church history and surveys of the congregation and community to determine church needs and ministry impact and readiness for change.
Sharing data and discoveries with the following groups: the leaders who contacted the MBRN, key decision makers, stakeholders (deacons, trustees, Committee heads, Church Council) and finally the church body.
MBRN leaders will make recommendations based upon the information obtained in the discovery phase.
The church makes a decision as a body on the recommendations after having the opportunity to listen, dialogue and discuss with MBRN and congregational leaders.
If recommendations are affirmed and accepted by the Church the MBRN will work with leaders to begin implementing those recommendations.
